Miranda Tam recaps the previous adventure, greeting the students with their morning announcements in today’s Albert the Alien.

Miranda is so much fun to write. She provides a unique perspective on the events of her school, Heston Heights Middle School – who’s mascot is the Ape. It was fun to make the school mascot the Apes for a few reasons:

1) The town is called Heston Heights, and Charlton Heston was the actor from the original Planet of the Apes movies
2) Evolutionist theory claims that humans evolved from apes, so they also represent us – the human race – especially to a character who would be coming from another planet
3) Thinks of all the fun we can have when we do a sports or school spirit story and the mascot comes out in a big Ape costume!

Miranda’s not having a great day, however, because in the last adventure someone stole all of the stuff out of her locker! Sounds like her reporter skills are going to be put to the test to solve this mystery.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend, and come back next week for another fun adventure of Albert the Alien!

I’m at my last show of the year, Wizard World Chicago! It’s my top-selling show of the year, and I’ll be in Artist Alley (E4) selling books, art, sketch cards, commissions, and a bunch of other stuff. My other creative half, Gabriel Bautista, will also be on hand selling his awesome art and sketch cards.

We’ll be in a row with fellow comic creators (and all around awesome guys) Russell Lissau (Batman Strikes, Strawberry Shortcake), Steve Horton (Amala’s Blade), and Jim McClain (Solution Squad).
